Self Harm

Self-harm in young people is on the rise, self-harm does not always have suicidal intent and is most often something children do to express or cope with difficult emotions.

We offer support to many children who are self-harming, we always carry out a risk assessment and share information to keep the young person safe. We offer strategies to the young person to help them understand and manage their emotions in a different way. It can be really frightening for families when they find out someone is self-harming.
